Jameel Square, located in Jeddah’s commercial hub, is a pioneering project in sustainability, being the first commercial building in Saudi Arabia to achieve the prestigious LEED Operation and Maintenance Gold certification under the LEED V4.1 rating system. This certification, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council, recognizes Jameel Square’s outstanding environmental performance in energy efficiency, water management, and indoor air quality. The building achieved significant milestones, including reducing energy consumption by up to 30% and water use by up to 50%, largely due to its advanced energy management systems, greywater recycling, and LED lighting technology. Designed to enhance occupant health and productivity, the building incorporates state-of-the-art air purification systems and maximizes natural light across its 38,000 square meters of Grade A office and retail space. The LEED Gold certification highlights Jameel Square’s role as a leader in sustainable commercial real estate, setting new benchmarks for environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
